Barkham Fined $3 for Contempt of Court

A representative for Judge Michael Warren confirmed this afternoon that the judge, who could have issued Barkham a sentence of up to 90 days in jail and $7500 in fines, fined Barkham just $3.

"My parents are very happy," said Trevor Barkham, Tom Barkham's son who runs the cider mill. "He fined them $3 – a dollar for each of the violations."

Trevor says the next step is to work on repealing the 1987 order that restricts what they can sell and how they can market their cider mill products.

"It's just been nice to have that support from people," he said. "It was really feeling rather lonely before."
