Be Prepared for Holiday Closings
Though Christmas and the New Year fall on the weekend, there are still area closings for weekdays surrounding the holidays.
Post office, library, mail
If you have errands to run or packages to mail, take a look at the following holiday hours for local government buildings and other services in and around Oakland Township:
- : The library is closed Friday-Sunday and Dec. 30-Jan. 1.
- Secretary of State: Closed Friday-Sunday and Dec. 30-Jan. 1.
- : The Oakland Township office will be closed all next week and regular hours will resume Jan. 2.
- Mail: The UPS Store in Oakland Township will be open 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. The post offices in Rochester Hills and downtown Rochester will be open 9 a.m.-noon Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Both lobbys are always open with machines for automated postage services.
Shopping
If you have a last-minute item you need to grab from the mall, keep in mind that hours are shortened for Christmas Eve and malls closed for Christmas.
- Great Lakes Crossing Outlets: Friday the mall is open 9 a.m.-10 p.m. It will be open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed Christmas day.
- : The shopping center will be open 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Christmas Eve. It will be closed on Christmas.
