Election Guide: Orion Township Races 2012

The voter guide for Orion Township is provided by the League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization.

Orion Township voters will have some decisions to make at the ballot box on Nov. 6.

There are elections for township supervisor, township clerk, township treasurer, township trustee and township library board.

  • There is one candidate, Chris Barnett, for township supervisor.
  • There is one candidate, Penny Shults, for township clerk.
  • There is a candidate, Mark Thurber, for township treasurer.
  • There are four candidates, Micheale Flood Jr., Neal Porter, Donni Steele, and John Steimel, for four 4-year terms for township trustee.
  • There are six candidates, James J. Abramczyk, Michael D. Luna, Mary Pergeau, James Phillips, Bert M. Quinn and Maryanne Thorndycraft, for six 4-year terms for township library.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging the informed and active participation of citizens in government. The League never supports or opposes a candidate or political party. It influences public policy through education and advocacy, according to its website.
