Oakland County Parks & Recreation Offers Free Christmas Tree Recycling for Residents

Oakland County Parks & Recreation has teamed up with  to offer free Christmas tree recycling for Oakland County residents from now through Jan. 30 at Orion Oaks and Independence Oaks county parks.

Before dropping your tree off, be sure to remove all non-organic items like ornaments, tinsel, lights and any plastic wrapping. The trees will be turned into wood chips, which will be available to the public for free later this year.

Once you recycle your tree, you can also subscribe to receive a free tree seedling from the Oakland Conservation District.

Rochester Hills residents can take their trees to  or the  to be recycled today from noon to 4 p.m., Jan. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Jan. 9 from noon to 4 p.m.

Trees can also be dropped off at nine other Oakland County parks through Jan. 16. Other drop-off locations include Addison Oaks Park, Catalpa Oaks, Glen Oaks Golf Course, Groveland Oaks, Lyon Oaks Park, Red Oaks Golf Course, Springfield Oaks Golf Course, Waterford Oaks Park and White Lake Oaks Golf Course.
