Oakland Township: Do You Support Blossom Ridge Ballot Measure?

Oakland Township voters on Aug. 6 will weigh in on at least one ballot question, regarding the rezoning of nearly 42 acres of property at the northwest corner of Adams and Dutton Roads for the Blossom Ridge Senior Housing development from the Medium Residential Density (MRD) zoning classification to the Residential Multiple-Family with Planned Rezoning Residential Overlay (R-M/PRRO) zoning classification.

Opinions have varied on the measure, and the developer, Moceri, has taken to its website to try to clear up what it deems are misconceptions about the development. 

How do you stand on the issue? If you are opposed to the development, tell us why. If you are in favor, let us know. The ballot question, as it will appear to voters, is listed below:

Ordinance No. 16-2012A, adopted by the Charter Township of Oakland Board of Trustees on August 14, 2012, rezoned approximately 41.842 acres of property located at the northwest corner of Adams and Dutton Roads for the Blossom Ridge Senior Housing development from the Medium Residential Density (MRD) zoning classification to the Residential Multiple-Family with Planned Rezoning Residential Overlay (R-M/PRRO) zoning classification.  The subject property consists of land having the following property identification numbers and street addresses: 10-31-400-003 (5750 Adams Rd.), 10-31-400-004 (3050 Adams Rd.), 10-31-400-013 (no street address) and 10-31-400-014 (5870 Adams Rd.).
