The first is a millage for the Oakland County Art Institute Authority. The millage will last for 10 years and will cost "20 cents per $1,000 of taxable value" according to the ballot. The millage would fund art and art projects in Oakland County.

The next two are both continuations of previous millages — one for fire fighting and the other for police in Orion Township. They would last from Dec. 2012 until Dec. 2015.

The fourth is a new, additional millage for Police in Orion Township that would also be from Dec. 2012 until Dec. 2015.

This year will also be the first election where the entire Township of Orion is in the 8th congressional district. Previously the township was split between the 8th and 9th congressional district.

The general election will be on Nov. 6.
