What's Changed Since Obama's Last Visit to Southeast Michigan?

During President Obama's visit to Detroit on Labor Day, Patch asked people how they'd like the government to help turn the state around.

President Barack Obama's in Orion today will be his second visit to southeast Michigan in less than two months.

Obama, who will tour the plant alongside South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, spoke about jobs during on Labor Day.

Patch took that opportunity to how they would like the government to help turn Michigan around.

"I am hopeful that our leaders can inspire people and direct them to resources for employment and education," said Farmington Hills resident .

Plymouth resident echoed that sentiment, adding that she hopes government leaders can help create jobs.

“One of the ways that our leaders can help Michigan rebound is by investing in green jobs and bringing jobs back to Michigan, because until people are working, the economy is never going to improve," said Marshill, a freelance journalist and student.

Farmington Hills resident said supporting the Big Three auto companies "was the best thing they (the government) could have done."

"As the old saying goes," Miller added, "'How GM goes, so goes the country.' Saving GM jobs was so important especially when you consider all of the retirees we have across the nation."

Now, as Obama visits a GM plant in our area six weeks later, what do you hope Obama and other national and local leaders do to help boost Michigan?
