5 Things to Know This Week: Dragons in Quarterfinals, Lincoln Presentation

Here's what's happening in and around Oakland Township and Lake Orion this week.

There is a lot going on this week. Here are some highlights:

  1. Basketball game: boys basketball team will be taking on Macomb L'Anse Creuse North in the quarterfinals at Calihan Hall in Detroit at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
  2. Meetings: There is an Orion Township Board of Trustees meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Orion Township Planning Commission meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and an Orion Township Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday. All meetings will take place at .
  3. School presentation: At 7 p.m. Monday there will be a '' presentation. Data from Lake Orion Community Schools surveys will be presented, counselors will speak and special guest, Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, will talk on the subject.
  4. Lincoln presentation: Luke Harlow, a professor of history at Oakland University, will be speaking at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Orion Township Public Library. He will discuss . Prior to the presentation, starting at 6 p.m., a resident, Thomas Gordon, will have his Lincoln memorabilia on display. Attendees will be able to browse the which is currently on display at the library as well.
  5. Weather: Aside from thunderstorms and showers which are in the forecast for Thursday and Friday, the week will be sunny will highs between 70 and 80 degrees. Light winds are expected Monday through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service, and evenings will have mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will start to decline as the weekend approaches according to the forecast.
