Oak Arbor Church & School in Rochester is asking their members and friends drop off their unwanted shoes into a collection bin located in the church foyer during the month of August. They will then be donated to Soles4Souls (soles4souls.org) which is a Nashville-based charity that collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of people. The charity distributes these shoes to people in need, regardless of race, religion, class, or any other criteria. Since 2005, they have delivered over 17 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes. The shoes have been distributed to people in over 127 countries, including Kenya, Thailand, Nepal and the United States.
Please stop in and drop off your shoes! The church is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9 AM – noon, and Sundays for worship at 10:30 AM.
