SUPPORT GLEANERS FOOD BANK-Bunches of Lunches Campaign

It all started with an empty lunch bag sent to the church by Gleaners.

Did you know that there are children right here in our extended communities that go hungry everyday? If you have a soft spot for this we hope that you will put aside whatever you are doing on Wednesday Aug 15, 2012 to be at our church for a community service project to help Gleaners at 7pm. Denise LeDuc who is a representative of Gleaners Food Bank will provide our lecture series for the evening and she is really excited to bring information of what Gleaners provides to our area. Questions and discussion are welcome and an opportunity to assist in an on-the-spot, table-top service project will be provided! 

This is a community service project and it is all about Gleaners and hungry kids.  Let's put our best foot forward and give of our time and prosperity to help Gleaners make a difference in the surrounding communities.  When you join us for the evening, you are welcome to bring a can of food to donate.  We would also ask you to consider making a donation to help provide Bunches of Lunches!  With school out for the summer, more than 315,000 children who rely on school meals in the five counties of southeastern Michigan are home - and hungry. Please help Unity Church of Lake Orion feed hungry children this summer through Gleaners Community Food Bank.  Every dollar you give will be matched to provide SIX meals for a hungry kid! Our goal is to provide 6,000 meals for kids who may otherwise go without. Please help by contributing today. Below is a link to the Unity Church Bunches of Lunches campaign. This month our church has chosen to put our tithe of the month to Gleaners too!
