Stoney Creek, Rochester Advance to State Cheer Finals
Twelve teams competed at Saturday's MHSAA cheer regional in Lake Orion.

"I'm ecstatic," Stoney Creek cheerleader Haley Baudendistel said. "We have been working for this moment all season long."
Twelve teams were competing for the top four places, which would qualify them for states. After three rounds Stoney Creek accrued 815.79 points, giving them the lead with Southgate Anderson coming in second place with 814.72 points. took third place with 811.72 points and . All four teams will be heading to the state cheer finals in Grand Rapids on Friday.

Like Baudendistel, Stoney Creek coach Tricia Williams said she was ecstatic that her team was headed to states.
"Coming in our goal was to perform the best we could. We knew we had to be in the top four to qualify for states," Williams said. "We just focused on ourselves ... we went last in round three which put a lot of pressure on us ... but our team performed fantastically."
