VIDEO: Lake Orion Schools to Implement District-Wide Bullying Prevention Program

The program is now in its second year Oakview Middle School and has expanded to Lake Orion High School and Pine Tree Elementary this year.

During Wednesday's Board of Education meeting, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Heidi Kast announced that the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program, which was , will soon be implemented district wide.

The program, which has expanded to include and Pine Tree Elementary School this year, is designed "to improve peer relations and make schools safer, more positive places for students to learn and develop," according to the Olweus – pronounced Ole-VAY-us – website.

The program is funded in part by the Lake Orion Education Foundation with additional funding from several generous donors, including .
