Stoney Creek's girls golfers dominated the top of the leaderboard on Oct. 9 in Port Huron at the Division 1 Region 5 tournament at Port Huron Golf Club.
Fourteen teams, including all three Rochester high schools and Lake Orion, competed for a chance to participate in this weekend's state competition, Oct. 18-19, at Michigan State University.

Three Stoney Creek golfers finished in the top five individual scores for the day. Tied for first was senior Chloe Guschewsk and junior Bailey Compton, both shooting the day's low score of 80. Freshman Lauren Ingle finished fourth with an 82. The top 3 teams were Stoney Creek High School with a combined score of 348, Lake Orion with 367 and Davison with 370.
The top three teams advance to states and top three individuals who are not on the top three teams advance individually.
