Help Sought in IDing Man Accused in Thefts at School Building

Man accused of stealing computers and electronic devices from school building.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public's help while investigating a theft that occurred at a Lake Orion Community Schools building on Scripps Road at the Lake Orion Community Schools Campus, according to Lt. Daniel Toth, Orion Township station commander. According to Toth, several computers and electronic devices were stolen in early May from the building. Video surveillance captured images of a man in the building prior to the theft. According to Toth, the man went through the school loading garbage bins with electronic devices belonging to the school district. A silver in color Chevrolet HHR vehicle is believed to be involved in the incident. Investigators need assistance identifying the suspect in the photos included …

Sheriff's Office Seeks Information in Orion Township Break-Ins

Three break-ins reported May 7.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is seeking help in identifying a man believed to be involved with a series of May 7 break-ins in Orion Township. Deputies responded at about 2:11 a.m. on May 7 to alarms at a storage facility for ACO Hardware, at the 3000 block of Baldwin, where they discovered damage to a roll-up door, according to Sheriff's officials.  Deputies later responded at 4:38 p.m. to the Knights of Columbus, 1400 Orion Road, for a report of breaking and entering where food items were reported missing, officials indicated. At 2:14 p.m. on May 7, deputies responded to Lake Orion Schools' CERC building on Scripps Road to investigate an apparent theft, officials indicated. 20 Gallons of Hydraulic Oil Spilled in Orion Township Crash

Crash closes traffic at Silver Bell and Bald Mountain roads.

A Monday morning accident caused more than 20 gallons of hydraulic oil to spill onto the road in Orion Township, according to the Detroit Free Press. According to the report, the incident involved two trucks and an SUV before 7 a.m. on Silver Bell, between Squirrel and Lapeer roads, closing roads to traffic at Silver Bell and Bald Mountain roads.

Oakland County and Detroit Public Safety Agencies Link Up

Radio system will allow the agencies to communicate directly with each other and coordinate responses to cross-border emergencies.

Officials are hoping to boost safety for Oakland County and Detroit residents with an addition to the county's OakWIN interoperable radio system. The system will now use data from Detroit to make a communication link between all Oakland County and Detroit police, fire and EMS radios, according to a recent Oakland County press release. Using OakWIN, the public safety agencies will be able to communicate directly with each other and coordinate responses to cross-border emergencies. Man Arrested in Orion Township in Connection with Home Invasions

45-year-old Brandon Township man with extensive criminal history suspected in at least 13 break-ins.

A 45-year-old Brandon Township man was arrested Thursday afternoon in Orion Township in connection with at least 13 home invasions in northern Oakland County and Genesee County, according to an incident report. Detectives from the Sheriff's Independence Township Substation identified the man as a suspect in a string of home invasions in Orion Township, Springfield Township, Independence Township, Atlas Township and Gaines Township, the report indicated. The Sheriff's Fugitive Apprehension Team followed the man on Thursday to the 100 block of Newman Road in Orion Township, where a home invasion was reported, the report indicated. Gunfight Reported at Orion Township Apartment Complex

Oakland County Sheriff's Office investigating incident late Thursday where shots were reported fired at Orion Township's Waldon Lakes apartment complex.

Oakland Township Sheriff's Deputies responded to a 911 call Thursday evening for a report of shots fired at the 2000 block of Cline Court, at the Waldon Lakes apartment complex, according to an incident report. Two witnesses reported two men engaged in a gunfight, one from a car and one on foot, according to the report.  According to the report, deputies arrived and began searching the area for the suspects. Deputies located the suspect who had reportedly fled on foot, a 21-year-old man from Pontiac, and arrested him at the scene. According to the report, the man also had outstanding arrest warrants. I saw a white older model car stopped on Joslyn midday, the day of the shooting. A younger black man was in the drivers seat and another person was in the back. They sat there blocking the southbound lane until an older black gentleman ( with gray in his hair) came from the direction of the apartment complex and got into the front passenger seat. Driver Wanted for Questioning in Road Rage Incident

Oakland County Sheriff's: Incident led to May 4 motorcycle accident on northbound M-24 in Orion Township.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a road rage incident that they say led to a May 4 motorcycle accident on northbound M-24 in Orion Township at 5:40 p.m., according to department officials. The motorcyclist was hospitalized in the accident, department officials indicated. Witnesses to the accident told department officials a black Yamaha motorcycle engaged in a verbal dispute with an unknown driver of a red vehicle believed to be a newer Ford Focus or Fusion.
