Store security loses sight of man suspected of stealing two jerseys from Kohl's.
Deputies were dispatched April 6 to the Kohl's at the 4800 block of Baldwin Road for a report of a man in blue jeans and an orange and blue jacket concealing two Detroit Tigers Jerseys valued at $100 each under his coat and leaving the store, according to the Oakland County Sheriffs Office. Kohl’s loss prevention officer followed the man for a short period and lost sight of him, the report indicated. Deputies arrived and tried to track the man's scent with a police dog, which followed the scent for about half a mile before losing the scent. The preceding information was provided by the Oakland County Sheriffs Office. Arrests, where indicated, do not indicate convictions.

Flights at community events and the 2013 Thunderbirds' season have been canceled, according to the U.S. Air Force.
Detroit Tigers fans can keep their eyes on the field Friday during opening day. That's because Selfridge Air National Guard Base will not be participating this year in the annual flyover at Comerica Park. Potential federal sequester cuts have not only affected the beloved baseball flyover, they have also grounded goodwill flights during community events, including parades, trade shows, F-22 demonstration flights and more for the remainder of the 2013 fiscal year, according to the U.S. Air Force. The Detroit Tigers return home this weekend for Game 3 of the World Series down 0-2 against the San Francisco Giants, but the team's merchandise sales continue to ride a hot streak. The Tigers are No. 2 in Major League Baseball in merchandise sales, behind the New York Yankees, whom the Tigers swept in the American League Championship Series, and just ahead of the Giants, according to the Detroit News.
