Farm Rich Product Recall Affects Kroger Stores

Customers with Kroger Plus Cards who purchased the products will receive notifications by phone and on their register receipts.

If you have a Kroger Plus Card and purchased Farm Rich products subject to a recent recall due to possible E. Coli contamination, expect to hear from the retail chain.   On Friday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Safety Inspection Services (FSIS) announced Farm Rich products is voluntarily recalling 196,222 pounds of product. At this time, the recall only affects 22 oz. Farm Rich Mini Pizza Slices, with a “Best Buy” date of May 15 or May 16, 2014, in the Kroger Michigan Division. The product UPC code is 41322 35643. “All Kroger customers who purchased the recalled product using their Kroger Plus Card will receive a phone call and a message on the bottom of future receipts stating the recalled product was purchased,” said Dale …

Gleaners Teams Up with Kroger to Raise Funds, Donations

Hope at the Table volunteers will gather monetary and food donations at Orion Township and Oakland Township Kroger locations Jan. 19.

This month, Gleaners Community Food Bank and Kroger are working together to bring hope to the tables of hungry southeast Michiganders. Each Saturday in January, volunteers will spend their day at local Kroger grocery stores across southeast Michigan, handing out information about the Bringing Hope to the Table initiative, as well as accepting donations of nonperishable food and money from shoppers. Volunteers will be out at Orion Township and Oakland Township Kroger stores Jan. 19, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., in addition to other locations in Oakland County. Alleged Kroger Flasher Arraigned; Possible Pot-Growing Operation Shut Down

Local man sought in flashing incident identified after he checked out using his Kroger card.

A 43-year-old Orion Township man was charged Oct. 31 with one count of indecent exposure in connection with an earlier incident at the Baldwin Road Kroger store. Troy Robertz turned himself in and was later released on $2,000 personal bond. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office was aided in identifying him by his Kroger card, which he used to make a purchase Oct. 18 after allegedly exposing himself to several women in the store. Robertz is due back in court Nov. 20 before Judge Lisa Asadoorian. Sheriff’s deputies responding to a complaint of a neighbor banging on a door on Canary Hill Nov. 2 were informed of the neighbor’s a marijuana-growing operation. Check Your Refrigerator Shelves for Recalled Kroger Spinach

The grocery store chain asks customers in 15 states to return the product, because of possible listeria contamination.

The Kroger Co. is asking all Michigan customers, and those in 14 other states, to check their refrigerators for certain Kroger Fresh Selections Tender Spinach 10-ounce packages, which are being recalled due to possible listeria monocytogenes contamination. Pregnant women or people with weakened immune systems could suffer severe illness after eating listeria monocytogenes. According to an alert issued by the Food and Drug Administration, the product is supplied by NewStar Fresh Foods LLC, has UPC code 0001111091649 and a "best if used by" date of Sept. 16. Any opened or unopened products should not be consumed and should be returned by customers to their local Kroger store for a full refund or replacement. Kroger Joins with 'Pure Michigan' to Push Local Products

Through television commercials and in-store promotions, Kroger is bringing Michigan Made products to the forefront of its shelves in response to consumer demand for local products.

Visit the dairy case at any Kroger store in the state this week and you’ll see the first feature of the company’s partnership with Pure Michigan to promote locally raised and made foods.  Kroger brand milk is the star of the newest Pure Michigan television commercial and the first consumer packaged good to be featured in the state’s iconic advertising campaign.
