Readers' Choice: Indianwood Voted Best Golf Course
Lake Orion course will host U.S. Senior Open in July
The host of the upcoming 2012 U.S. Senior Open has been named the top Oakland Township-Lake Orion golf course by readers of Oakland Township-Lake Orion Patch. There were 20 votes cast in the weeklong poll; Indianwood Golf and Country Club finished first with six votes. Twin Lakes and The Wyndgate Country Club tied for second place with four votes apiece. Westwynd Golf Course finished with three votes. The poll was not scientific. Indianwood will be in the national spotlight when it hosts the Senior Open on July 12. Almond chicken is a customer favorite from Young's Chinese Food Carry Out in Royal Oak, but the broccoli chicken and chicken fried rice get some love, too, for Patch readers' favorite place to get Asian food in Oakland County. Nine five-star reviews earned Young's the top spot among 10 Chinese, Asian and sushi restaurants and carryouts in Oakland County, based on reviews and ratings by readers. According to our readers, Carrie Lee's of Orion serves up the best Asian cuisine in Lake Orion and Oakland Township.
On Monday we asked readers where they like to go locally to satisfy their Asian cravings and the majority of the votes were for Carrie Lee's of Orion. Alex Chinese & Grill, Ming's Oriental Cafe and Twin Dragons also received votes when we asked What's the Best Place for Asian Cuisine?, but Carrie Lee's of Orion came out ahead with almost 60 percent of the votes. Carrie Lee's of Orion is located at 3047 S. Baldwin Rd. in Orion Township. They serve Chinese and Thai delicacies, with plenty of chicken and seafood plates, and vegetarian options. Carrie Lee's (Waldon and Baldwin) is wonderful! (and unfortunately, the only Asian restaurant in Northern Oakland County that is even palatable. We've had 4 Thai restaurants open in the last year and all have been disappointing (to put it mildly). Where is the decent ethnic food? How about some Polish or Indian cuisine? more ›
