Pipe Bomb Disarmed at Indianwood Golf Course Days Before U.S. Senior Open

A few days before the U.S. Senior Open is set to start, police responded to a suspicious package call and found a pipe bomb at Indianwood. The following information was supplied by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Substation in Orion Township.

A few days before the U.S. Senior Open is set to begin, the Michigan State Police bomb squad responded to assist in disarming a device resembling a pipe bomb at Indianwood Golf and Country Club. Oakland County Sheriff's Office received a call about a suspicious package that a maintenance worker discovered near a service gate on Joslyn Road at approximately 1:10 p.m. Thursday. Michigan State Police bomb squad responded and ensured the device was safe. The OCSO Forensic Science Laboratory is conducting tests on the device, and OCSO detectives are investigating the incident.
