As you prepare for the holiday, try a few of these Christmas cookie recipes.
Here are a few of my favorite Christmas cookie recipes. Most of these are easy to make and kid friendly. Enjoy! Ingredients: Crush the cookies in a plastic bag with a rolling pin or in a food processor until the cookies are almost powder-like. Mix in the softened cream cheese and stir well. You can make as many different sizes as you want or have space for. Microwave the candy coating and be ready to apply right away, while it is still hot. Once it hardens, you won't be able to cover the cookies. Add your favorite sprinkles while candy coating is still soft. Set cookies on wax paper and place in freezer for 10-15 minutes, at least. Temperatures expected to drop to seasonal levels will threaten newly budded plants.
Temperatures are forecast to hover around freezing overnight, for the next several nights, which could threaten all those early blooming spring flowers. Because of the cold temperatures, the National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook on Wednesday. Low temperatures are forecast to drop to a frosty 34 degrees Wednesday night and dip below freezing by Thursday night. Low temperatures are forecast to pick up to the 40s by the weekend. That means newly budded and sensitive outdoor plants could be killed if left uncovered. Representatives from English Gardens recommended covering plants with freeze cloths, newspapers or sheets. Corey Damen Jenkins and Michelle Mio battle it out for a winning spot on ‘Showhouse Showdown.’
HGTV's Showhouse Showdown, a new show that pits designer against designer in a showhouse competition, will feature two local interior designers, including Corey Damen Jenkins of Design with Vision: DWV Interiors in Bloomfield Hills, and Michelle Mio of Rariden Schumacher Mio in Birmingham. The showhouses are based in Midland, where the episode was filmed. Watch the two designers battle it out for the winning spot March 24 at 2:30 p.m. An encore broadcast will run March 30 at 1:30 p.m. The designers take over two newly built and identical homes with the same budgets to create a winning interior design. We're enjoying, if that's the right word, a record-setting March – for a few more days, at least.

With DTE Energy always telling us we can save by cutting our use, is a joke. Then they go to Lansing, where they cry, less demand, we need another rate increase. Just like Detroit, Water, and Consumer gas.
