A half billion dollars could be yours in the latest Powerball drawing. Did someone from Lake Orion or Oakland Township win? We'll have to wait and see. The $550 million winning Powerball numbers have been selected people all over Michigan are checking their tickets. The winning Powerball numbers for the Nov. 28, 2012 drawing are 5, 16, 22, 23, 29 and a Powerball number of 6. For more on Powerball, visit Powerball.com Lottery anaylsis website USA Mega broke down what you could expect to take home after taxes in the $550 million jackpot state by state.  In Michigan, a solo winner could expect to pay 4.35 percent in state taxes on the winnings. The annual payout after taxes would be $13,659,000; a lump sum payout would be $268,328,700.

Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $500 Million; Will You Play, Lake Orion and Oakland Township?

Powerball lottery players are testing their luck on an enormous jackpot for the Nov. 28 drawing.

It certainly could be the most wonderful time of the year for one or multiple lottery players. Since no one won Saturday's drawing, the Powerball jackpot has grown to a whopping $500 million prize. The next drawing is taking place at night Nov. 28. Tickets may be purchased until 9:45 p.m. on the night of the drawing. Tickets purchased after that time will be eligible for the next drawing. To find a place to buy tickets, check out the Michigan Lottery website. Powerball is played in 42 states, including Michigan, along with Washington, D.C., and the Virgin Islands.
